A Word About Chinese Oak Chinese Oak wood is a dense, finely grained hardwood, similar to teak, and is nearly 5% harder than Red Oak. This makes it very durable for outdoor products, as well as patio and garden furniture. The heartwood of Chinese Oak is light brown while some boards have a lighter pinkish tint to them, similar to Western Red Cedar. This results in a very showy and attractive material for building outdoor furniture. The wood fibers in Chinese Oak contain tannic acids which protect it from fungi decay and insect attack, much like the high level of resinous oil in teak wood and the tannis in cedar wood. This natural weather proofing makes Chinese Oak an ideal wood for both outdoor patio furniture and garden structures. Chinese Oak Furniture Features Our furniture is manufactured from Chinese Oak which has been kiln dried to less than 1%, so it has virtually no warping or cupping. It is stained with light oil for additional weatherproofing from the elements giving a uniform appearance to the wood. We use exclusively mortise and tenon joinery using Swedish exterior grade Casco Nobel glue. Our solid brass fittings and quality fasteners provide superior holding strength. Shipping All of our Chinese Oak products are shipped within 6-9 days, as an assembled or unassembled kit.
The products made and sold at Patio Port are guaranteed to satisfy! If you are not happy with your purchase or need to return it for any reason, please email us for a RA Form. We will make arrangements to exchange, replace, or accept your return and refund you the original amount of the purchase price less shipping. Your refund will be issued back to the credit card used for the original purchase. All returns are subject to a 5% restocking fee and must be returned prepaid within15 days of receiving your shipment in "new" unused, undamaged condition and with its original packaging. (If your shipment was damaged in transit do not return - See below.) Inspect Your Merchandise Before receiving your shipment be sure to open the box and inspect the merchandise before accepting and signing for delivery. If you discover upon inspection that the merchandise is damaged, refuse delivery or notate damage on the freight bill. Contact All Things Cedar and they will replace the item at no additional cost to you. If you accept the damaged shipment without inspecting, keep all packaging and email them within 3 days of the specific damage with supporting pictures. All Things Cedar will handle all correspondence with UPS and arrange for a replacement part to be shipped out to you. If an item is found damaged beyond repair All Things Cedar will initiate a claim with the shipping company and issue a refund for the purchase price of the product. If original packaging is discarded before UPS inspects, or damaged items are shipped back to the warehouse by the customer without a Return Authorization Form the replacement claim that All Things Cedar made with the shipping company on behalf of the customer will be null and void. This will result in a denied claim with the shipping company and replacement or refund will not be issued. Warranty Replacement In the unlikely event that you receive defective merchandise All Things Cedar will, at its discretion and expense, replace any parts that are found defective within 15 days of purchase. All Things Cedar must be notified by email with supporting pictures or proof of defect of the part or item claimed to be defective. If returning item for replacement or refund, merchandise must be accompanied by a returngoods authorization number or it will be refused. All returned merchandise must be prepaid by the customer. Refunds being returned. For customs purposes the remission value for products returning to original shipper is stated as Repackage (if needed) and ship back to us through the shipping method of your choice. All returns must be accompanied by the RA Form and must be shipped prepaid to our main warehouse located at 1228b 31st.
